The two new yachts have their own unique design language and are strongly modelled on the C 57 presented a year ago, which was designed by Bavaria's new in-house designer Maurizio Cossutti. The voluminous hulls are fitted with relatively flat, elegant superstructures. The large hull windows and the many hatches on deck are striking. The sterns are closed and can be opened via a bathing hatch and a small passageway on deck. The remaining space in the stern is used for an outdoor pantry with a barbecue and washbasin, which can be used as a helmsman's seat or sunbed when the boat is sailing.
All halyards, sheets and spreaders are now led aft to two pairs of winches and can be operated there by the helmsman. This leaves the area next to the companionway free. The boat is equipped with a self-tacking jib, but genoa tracks are also available. Both boats have a dinghy garage, two tables in the cockpit and are equipped with furling systems installed below deck. Despite the large width at the stern, Bavaria has once again opted for just one central rudder blade; the previous boats were still fitted with two fins.
The boats are available in three versions: "Holiday", once the name for Bavaria's pure charter line, stands for the simplest version. "Style" stands for higher-quality equipment and "maximum style and individualisation", according to the shipyard. Finally, "Ambition" is equipped with a black bowsprit, boom and mast as well as wheels in a carbon look.
The interior is available in mahogany, walnut and the trend colour light oak, with a choice of ten different layouts, three types of wood for the floorboards and four types of upholstery. On request, the boats can be equipped with smart home technology; many of the yacht's electrical and electronic functions and information can be operated or called up from the plotter, tablet or smartphone.
Both boats will have their world premiere at boot Düsseldorf in January.
